Painting by Danish artist Søren Hjorth-Nielsen (1901–1983) depicting Vesterø on the island of Læsø, dated 1955. The composition shows rooftops, the church tower and the coastal landscape towards the sea in muted earth tones, greens and reds.
Signed HN lower right. An old label on the reverse identifies the artist and gives the title “Fra Vesterø paa Læsø – 1955.” Hjorth-Nielsen worked repeatedly with subjects from Læsø during the 1950s, particularly Vesterø and its harbour environment. Trap Danmark | Lex
